Catherine Gicheru is an International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) Knight Fellow and the founder/director of the Africa Women Journalism Project. She is also the co-founder of PesaCheck, East Africa's first budget and finance fact-checking initiative. Moreover, Catherine serves on the boards and advisory councils of several organisations, including the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism and the Media Development Investment Fund.
